Auburn law
requires that all dogs wear a dog license.
The owners can be notified quickly and be returned to their owners
by animal control officers instead of being detained. |
-
Alabama
state law requires all dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies every
year.
Contact your local veterinarian for information about rabies shots. The
shots are very low in cost and some animal care givers offer the shot for
free. Protect yourself, your neighbors, and your pet.
-
Auburn
utilizes and enforces the "Leash Law."
The dog must be confined to a building or fenced area on the property, and
the dog must be leashed and/or securely tied in such a manner that the dog
cannot gain access to other property.
-
Auburn
has a nuisance ordinance, which includes dog barking.
If you are bothered by a continual howl of a chronic barker, you should
first speak to the owner. Allow the owner a little time to work out a
solution. Offer suggestions or alternatives which might reduce the noise. If
the problem persists, your next course of action is through the municipal
court system. Contact the Auburn Public Safety Department (police) to fill
out a report.
